So for those who don't know and that read my blog, I will be living in Maryland for the next 10 weeks. I got a summer internship in the sales and marketing department of a Ready Mix company called Chaney Enterprises.

I will be living here:

Living in Brandywine, MD and working in Waldorf, MD. When I found out I would be living in Brandywine I was a little excited. I am a big nerd and the Shire (where the hobbits live) is on the West bank of the Brandywine river. Yeah. I know that. It's kind of sad how much of a Lord of the Rings freak I am. I try not to show it too much.

Anyway, I will try to post pictures of the apartment and where I'm working when I get up there. However, I have been told the internet connection in the apartment is pretty bad because we are out in the boonies. I'm not sure how frequently I will be able to update this thing, so bear with me.

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing. One minute I am super excited and the next I'm ready to go ahead and decline the offer for the internship. I just have to keep telling myself it will be a good experience.

In other news, I went out shopping for shoes today and it never ceases to amaze me how FEW flat white shoes there are out in the world. They have every color but white. I'm almost 6' 1''. I do not need high heels to give me height and I try to avoid adding to my height any way that I can. Now that I have kind of grown into myself it is less about self confidence and more about safety issues. Being 6' 5"  leads to things like putting my arms in ceiling fans when I stretch, hitting my knees on the edges of tables, etc. It's a danger being tall. I am still on the hunt for cute, professional, comfortable, flat white shoes.

I did have a good shopping day though. I managed to put together a semi cute outfit and find pants that were actually long enough for me that I didn't have to order off of the internet. If you know me, I spend most of my time looking completely disheveled and have a hard time putting "outfits" together. I'm usually okay with whatever is comfortable on. In the beauty world, comfort is not easy to find!

I'm spending this evening packing up all of my stuff. Tomorrow I need to get a new social security card and then I am spending the day with mom and Grandmama. Friday I go through emissions and I am off to the north!

I will try to keep pictures and stuff up to date while I am out there!

Woo Hoo! Go you! Yeah, its a little nerve-wracking going off so far for a new job, even if it is simply over the summer. But it will be a great experience I am sure :)

And I well understand you about the dangers of being tall :P

You rock Buttercup!  Go and enjoy it.  It will be a great exerience in a new place.  Just be sure to give it a chance as it will take a little time to settle in.  You'll do great.  If you get lonely hit me up on AIM.  I'm traveling a lot (in Chicago as I type), but I always have time for you.

PS- as far as being tall I will defer to our countless conversations on how good a thing that is, and the inevitable "whatevers" that followed. ;)
